“Learning to be present with yourself and to abide in that which is steady and comfortable does not allow space for self-judgment. When you live this way, you are practicing yoga: you are living fully.”
– Judith Hanson Lasater

Yoga Nidra Training
For ALL Yoga Teachers and Students!
Yoga Nidra, or yogic sleep, is a type of meditation based on the ancient yogic anatomy of the Koshas, the 5 subtle bodies. Sometimes described as a long savasana, it is actually a combination of deep body relaxation and mental awareness.

Yoga Nidra is a quiet journey inward to stillness that transforms and releases old habits, fatigue, worry, and stress. Yoga Nidra is a technique for physical rejuvenation, mental relaxation, spiritual growth, and overall wellness.

This training is for those who would like to offer students the opportunity to experience a systematic method of conscious relaxation. Yoga Nidra has been found to be effective in treating many of the physical symptoms of stress, including insomnia, anxiety, and depression. It is also helpful in the treatment of PTSD and addictions.

During our weekend together, we will:
  • Explore the science, philosophy and practice of Yoga Nidra.
  • Gain a solid understanding of how this practice can assist different populations.
  • Learn how to practically present Yoga Nidra sessions in both group and individualized settings.
This introductory course is suitable for all Yoga students, Yoga Teachers, wellness instructors, mental health counselors, doctors, nurses, social workers, psychologists, and other health care professionals.

Learning anatomy, biomechanics and physiology can help us prevent injury, maintain a healthy, mobile body over our lifetime, and become more effective yoga teachers.

This course will be a combination of lecture and applied practice of what we study so that students complete this course with a sense that knowledge of Western anatomy isn’t only information on a page but living, breathing concepts that can be practically applied to our yoga practice and teaching.

Chair Yoga Training
For ALL Yoga Teachers and Students!
Chair Yoga adapts traditional yoga poses so that they can be done with a chair for support, making yoga more accessible for all people.

Our society is aging and there are many people unable to practice a standard yoga class. Chair yoga also provides a gentle but effective practice for those with mobility or disability issues.

The chair takes the place of the yoga mat, and poses are seated or supported by the chair. You get a warm-up, stretching and strengthening, whether you’re coming off a sports injury, challenged by the physical limits of aging, or have been sitting for too many hours at your desk.

Yin Yoga Teacher Training – Level 1
Discovering the healing potential of a yin practice is becoming more popular. This 25-hour foundational  certification training is designed for both yoga teachers and dedicated yoga practitioners to delve deep into the practice and theory of Yin Yoga, and explore anatomy, sequencing, safety in postures, introduction to meridian theory, and mindfulness.
This training will benefit teachers, practitioners and students alike. It can be used as a therapeutic treatment or as a personal practice. You don’t need to have the desire to teach, only the openness to fully immerse yourself in yoga.

More and more practitioners are exploring Yin Yoga. This is a natural reaction to what has become an extremely yang health culture. Yin yoga is the relaxed practice of floor postures for three to five minutes at a time. A yin practice emphasizes the connective tissues of the hips, thighs, pelvis and lower spine. It prepares the body and mind for longer meditation practices. By drawing the student’s awareness away from the muscles and deeper into the bones, a deep level of relaxed focus is achieved.

This 25-hour intensive is a strong complement for a current Yoga Teacher of any style. It can also be a springboard for the student who is ready to take the leap into a broader perspective and fuller appreciation of the practice of Yin Yoga.
