                                          In-Person Class

As summer begins to fade and the colours and rhythms of autumn start to emerge, join us for a 75-minute in-person yoga experience inspired by the iconic music, artistry, and spirit of Madonna.

For decades, Madonna has embodied transformation, resilience, self-expression, and unapologetic authenticity. Her music moves effortlessly between introspection and celebration, vulnerability and empowerment, inviting us to embrace every chapter of our evolution. This class reflects that journey.

                                          You can expect:

                                          • A thoughtfully layered yoga sequence that progresses from grounding postures into empowering, expansive flows
                                          • Music-guided movement inspired by Madonna’s iconic catalogue, creating space for reflection, confidence, and joyful expression
                                          • An atmosphere that feels vibrant, uplifting, and transformative — celebrating both where you’ve been and where you’re going

September is a season of transition — a moment to gather the experiences of summer while creating space for what comes next. This class honours that shift. It’s an invitation to move with intention, embrace change with confidence, and reconnect with the strength and authenticity that already exist within you.

Open to all levels, this experience offers a meaningful way to welcome autumn — grounded, inspired, and ready to express your fullest self.

Lunar Reset: A Full Moon Ceremony
                                          In-Person Workshop

The full moon can be a meaningful time for reflection and reset. Its natural cycle offers a helpful reminder to pause, reflect, release, and create more balance in both body and mind.

A full moon practice can also awaken our creativity and inner clarity. Whether you are working on creative projects or seeking fresh perspectives on life’s challenges, this is a beautiful time to let go of stagnant energy and make space for insight and renewal.

In this class, you will unwind and reset through slow, grounding yoga postures, allowing the body to open and the nervous system to settle. You will then move into a deeply restful Yoga Nidra—a guided, meditative relaxation that supports effortless release, inner healing, and integration.

This practice invites all to soften, to listen inward, and to welcome the spaciousness that the full moon brings.

You’re welcome to bring an eye pillow or anything that adds to your comfort.

Autumn Equinox: A Sound Meditation & Intention Setting Experience
                                              In-Person Autumn Equinox Celebration

The Autumn Equinox is a sacred time to pause and honour the delicate balance between light and dark. As nature shifts, we are invited to release the vibrant energy of summer and begin the gentle journey inward toward rest, reflection, and renewal.

Join Doug for a deeply restorative evening that weaves together Yoga Nidra, Sankalpa (intention setting), and an immersive live sound bath. Guided into a state of profound relaxation through the ancient practice of Yoga Nidra, you'll be invited to connect with your Sankalpa—a heartfelt intention that is planted in the quiet stillness of deep awareness. The Equinox offers the perfect opportunity to reflect on what you are ready to release and what you wish to cultivate as the seasons change.

Throughout the evening, you'll be immersed in the soothing vibrations of gongs, crystal and metal singing bowls, gentle guitar, and Doug's handcrafted monochords. These rich, resonant tones create a deeply calming soundscape that supports relaxation, inner balance, and connection to the rhythms of the natural world.

                                              This Fall Equinox Celebration includes:

Rachel Lipton is a Level 2 MELT Method® Instructor and Registered Acupuncturist.

“I found MELT during the pandemic while trying to find a cost-effective way to manage my posture-based pain and tension areas. After practicing for two years, and using it while training for a short tri-athalon, I decided I couldn’t keep it to myself any longer! As a registered acupuncturist, I found the overlap between fascial function and the ancient Chinese meridians thrilling. I’m delighted to be sharing this method with the Ottawa community.”

Breathe to the Beat: An Immersive Breathwork & Live Percussion Journey
                                                In-Person Workshop

Feel the rhythm. Follow your breath. Come home to yourself.

Step into a powerful two-hour immersive experience where conscious breath and live rhythm come together to create space for connection, presence and renewal. Guided by Saman, this extended group breathwork journey invites you to slow down, move beyond the noise of the mind and reconnect with the natural rhythm within.

Inspired by Rumi's wisdom that ten different lamps in a single room cast one indistinguishable light, this experience explores the profound power of shared presence. We each arrive with our own stories and experiences, yet as we breathe together, individual rhythms become part of something larger—a collective pulse of breath, sound and energy.

Throughout the journey, guided breathwork is interwoven with live hand drumming, percussion and carefully curated music, creating a rich and dynamic soundscape. The rhythm builds and shifts alongside the breath, supporting an immersive experience that encourages participants to turn their awareness inward, release tension and connect more deeply with the present moment.

The two-hour format allows time to arrive and settle, experience a more spacious guided breathwork journey, immerse yourself in the energy of live percussion, and gently integrate the experience.

At times energizing and powerful, at others quiet and grounding, Breathe to the Beat is an invitation to surrender to the rhythm, follow the breath and experience what unfolds when we come together in conscious presence.
No previous breathwork experience is required. Come as you are, and leave feeling more grounded, connected and renewed.

Familiarity with how our bodies are put together, how their different systems function, and the mechanics of how they move can deepen our understanding of how to practice yoga safely, effectively, and efficiently. Learning anatomy, biomechanics and physiology can help us prevent injury, maintain a healthy, mobile body over our lifetime, and become more effective yoga teachers.

                                                Program Outline:

In this course, we’ll examine Western anatomy through the lens of yoga by studying and applying to practice the following:
                                                • The ten systems of the body and how yoga can positively affect them
                                                • The anatomy and biomechanics of the breath and their central importance in how we practice asana and breathwork
                                                • The anatomy of the spine and how to practice asana safely and effectively by utilizing the biomechanics of the spine
                                                • The anatomy of the major joints of the body, the five primary causes of joint pain, and how yoga can help maintain healthy joints

This course will be a combination of lecture and applied practice of what we study so that students complete this course with a sense that knowledge of Western anatomy isn’t only information on a page but living, breathing concepts that can be practically applied to our yoga practice and teaching.

There is no pre-reading required for this course. Handouts for each subject will be distributed prior to our weekly sessions.

The Yin Yoga practice lengthens and opens the physical body, massaging deep connective tissue in a most relaxing way.
