Drink It In: A Cacao Ceremony for Self Love

    Saturday, February 15th, 2:00pm - 4:00pm
Drink It In: A Cacao Ceremony for Self Love

    In-Person Workshop

To love others, we must first love ourselves - unconditionally, and unapologetically.

Make space for yourself as we pair the ancient techniques of Yoga (breath-work, meditation, and movement) with the guidance of Cacao to nourish your heart, release what doesn’t serve, and deepen your connection to Self.

Ceremonial-grade Cacao is the food of the gods, is the truest form of cacao, and has been a part of Meso-American traditions and rituals for tens of thousands of years. These rituals are a journey toward self-discovery, transformation, and happiness.

Pairing Cacao and Yoga practices within the softness of community creates an opportunity to open the heart, quiet the internal chatter, and experience the body with reverence and appreciation. Together we will embark on a heart-opening journey for self-love that we can carry with us in our relationships and everyday lives.

    In this ceremony, we will:

    • Enjoy a slow cup of hot ceremonial-grade Cacao and learn its history and benefits.
    • Release what has served and what is no longer serving to create space for the new.
    • Set intentions and affirmations for self-compassion
    • Practice healing breath-work to bring balance to mind, body, and spirit.
    • Meditate to strengthen the knowledge of Self
    • Release tension with a gentle Yin & Yang practice
    • Leave with renewed self-compassion and deeper self-love

In addition to the usual items you might bring to a Yoga practice, please bring:

    • Your favourite small cup
    • A journal, sketchbook, or notepad
    • Something to write or draw with

    Date and Time: Saturday, February 15, 2025, 2 pm - 4 pm.

    - Chronic Pain Policy Team, Health Canada

Persistent pain can impact a specific part of the body, the entire body, or can “move around” the body. Some conditions and injuries can trigger a persistent pain response, but not all persistent pain is the result of a “tissue issue.” This workshop will focus on persistent low back, sacroiliac, tailbone, and pelvic pain (e.g. related to various gynecological diagnoses including but not limited to endometriosis, vaginismus, vulvodynia).

    Participants can expect to:

    • Increase your understanding of pain and its impact on the body, breath, mind, and spirit;
    • Become familiar with a variety of tools and techniques that, with practice, may increase your capacity to regulate the nervous system; and/or
    • Reframe your relationship to persistent pain.

Cost: $115.00 per person before February 9, 2025, $125.00 per person thereafter.

The fee includes participating in the in-person workshop and access to a take-home resource/workbook.

Note: This program IS NOT a substitute for psychotherapy, physiotherapy, or other medical treatment but may be a valuable complement and support to these modalities should you already be utilizing them. This is not a training course for yoga teachers/therapists or health care professionals.

Participants will be asked to complete a health information and waiver form for the yoga portion of the workshop.
