The MELT Method is a fascia-focused technique designed to ease chronic tension, pain, and inflammation. Fascia, also called connective tissue, is a web-like system in our body that effects our muscular strength and function, joint health & stability, lymphatic flow, and autonomic nervous system. Chronic postures and movements dehydrate fascia, creating chronic tense areas in our body.
This workshop focuses on releasing tension and pain in the jaw and neck - areas of so much stuck stress! Techniques for restoring neural-fascial communication though the nervous system will also be incorporated, inviting in a full-body relaxing effect.
The MELT Method uses soft foam rollers and balls designed specially for its techniques which will be provided by the instructor.
Cost: $40.00 per person in-advance, $45.00 per person day of.
Maximum of 12 participants.
Location: PranaShanti Yoga Centre, 950 Gladstone Ave., Ottawa, ON. Studio: Soul Room.
About Rachel:
Rachel Lipton is a Level 2 MELT Method® Instructor and Registered Acupuncturist.
“I found MELT during the pandemic while trying to find a cost-effective way to manage my posture-based pain and tension areas. After practicing for two years, and using it while training for a short tri-athalon, I decided I couldn’t keep it to myself any longer! As a registered acupuncturist, I found the overlap between fascial function and the ancient Chinese meridians thrilling. I’m delighted to be sharing this method with the Ottawa community.”
