    The full moon is a special time, especially for those who are following a yogic path, because it is an optimum time for clearing and balancing our mind and our energy.

    The moon is deeply and intimately connected with our mind and our thoughts. Meditation can help to cleanse feelings of agitation, and can even provide us with a great opportunity to let go of the mental or emotional baggage that has been weighing us down.

    Meditating at the full moon also help us to unleash our creativity, whether we are focused on specific creative projects or we need new ways of thinking about the problems and issues we are facing. This practice can help us to release old, stuck, energy that no longer serves us.

    During the class, we will clear our mind and balance our body’s chakras (energy centers) through a variety of Kundalini Yoga practices including breath work (pranayam), meditation, and a yoga nidra savasana (relaxation).

    Mind & Meditation is one of the five modules required for Level 2 certification as a Kundalini Yoga Practitioner.
    The course emphasizes carefully chosen meditations, kriyas, and readings. All the information is presented in highly interactive learning environments. You will explore topics and discuss them with other students in both small and large groups. You will have the opportunity to practice meditations deeply over an extended time. You will test and observe the application of these techniques and attitudes in your life. One highlight of the course is a day of silent meditation to go deeper into your experience of self.

    • Passing grade of 75% or higher on the Exam
    • Attendance at all 48 hours of classroom study
    • Completion of 12 hours of home study assignments within 12 months of course start date.

    • At least 40 days of journaling
    • Completion of 90 days of the assigned meditation

    Mind & Meditation is one of the five modules required for Level 2 certification as a Kundalini Yoga Practitioner.
    The course emphasizes carefully chosen meditations, kriyas, and readings. All the information is presented in highly interactive learning environments. You will explore topics and discuss them with other students in both small and large groups. You will have the opportunity to practice meditations deeply over an extended time. You will test and observe the application of these techniques and attitudes in your life. One highlight of the course is a day of silent meditation to go deeper into your experience of self.

    9:00 AM to 5:00 PM each day with breaks

    Requirements:

    Completion of Level 1 KRI Teacher Training is required for entrance into the course or 1 year of Kundalini Yoga practice experience.
     
    Evaluation of this course is based on successfully meeting the following course requirements including:
     
    • Passing grade of 75% or higher on the Exam
    • Attendance at all 48 hours of classroom study
    • Completion of 12 hours of home study assignments within 12 months of course start date.

    Home Study:

    • At least 12 hours of study group meetings and/or conference calls
    • At least 40 days of journaling
    • Completion of 90 days of the assigned meditation
    • Completion of the exam questions

    A 4-week series consisting of four 75-minute classes. Ideal for beginners and perfect for anyone looking to refresh the fundamentals of their yoga practice.

    Beginning with basics, these classes are designed to build a strong foundation and introduce the basics of yoga postures, alignment and language.

    Week 1: Yogic breathing, important exercises and the appropriate approach to yoga. We will learn the importance of proper breathing and how to work with both physical and mental stress.

    Week 2: Sun Salutations.  We will learn the foundational poses that comprise a basic Sun Salutation. A great way to start each day!

    Week 3: Understanding basic postures and their benefits. We will learn how to safely transition in and out of poses and what the benefits are.

    Week 4: Review - We will review and re-visit many of the postures and practices we covered in the 4 previous weeks and have one last group practice together.
     
    This series provides:
    • Experiential learning with an opportunity for individual attention.
    • The opportunity to ask questions about yoga postures and learn about the importance of breathing.
