Practicing Prenatal Yoga can be a powerful tool to prepare for labor and motherhood. Research suggests that Prenatal Yoga has many benefits for pregnant women, such as:
Reduced stress and anxiety
Increased strength, flexibility and endurance of muscles needed for childbirth
Decreased lower back pain, nausea, carpal tunnel syndrome, headaches and shortness of breath
In this 4-week series we will use meditation and practice yoga postures to strengthen and relax your changing body. We will explore different breath and focus techniques that are supportive for birthing and learn how to modify postures before and after baby arrives.
Each session ends with a well-deserved relaxation, and is appropriate for new and experienced Yoga students.
This series is an opportunity to connect with your body, baby and other pregnant women. As well as, to prepare for the challenges of being a new parent.

Location: PranaShanti Education Centre, 45 Eccles Street (Chinatown), Ottawa.
Cost: $35.00 per session or $130.00 for all 4 sessions.
Space is limited to 12 participants to ensure individual and personalized attention.
Thursday, October 28th to Thursday, November 18th, 5:45pm - 7:00pm
Live Stream and/or In-Person Workshop
This series will teach you how to start and maintain a regular meditation practice. It is open to beginners and those looking to restart or gain more understanding in the practice.
Topics covered include:
What is meditation? Why meditate?
How to meditate?
How the mind works.
Techniques to keeping a regular practice.
Obstacles to meditation.
The teachings in this series come from the Sivananda classical yoga system with the goal of finding or getting closer to peace of mind.
Each session will be part lecture and part practice session.
Cost: $140.00 for all 4 sessions. This is a series of classes as each session builds on the previous session.
Sign up early! All levels of experience welcome.
Note: Dress in comfortable clothing. Participants are welcome to practice in different seated floor postures or sitting in a chair. If you have a favourite ones for meditation, please have them with you.
Several handouts will be included. It is recommended to have a pen and notebook.
