Program Launch – January 2018
The 300 hour Hatha Teacher training is a modular program that offers depth of knowledge and methodology in essential fields of yogic inquiry. Our program is designed to encourage commitment and completion of this advanced yoga education. You may begin the program at any time during the year and have 2 – 3 years to complete the program from the first day of your first training.
In order to enter the program, you must be at least 18 years old and have completed a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training – all disciplines are welcome to participate. You have a maximum of 3 years to complete the 300 hour training.
The program comprises a series of seven modules total, one of which is a self-study module. Approximately one module every three months will be offered, which means students can enroll in the training and complete it within a year and a half. Students have three years maximum to complete the training. Each module is accompanied by preparatory readings and assignments, which need to be completed and submitted to consider the module completed. The 7 modules cover the following subjects and can be taken in any order:
1. Ayurveda & Yogic Lifestyle
2. Therapeutics, Adjustments and Hands On Assisting
3. Yogic Philosophy, Sanskrit Language, Sound & Mantra
4. Meditation, Prana and Pranayama
5. Teaching Methodology, the Role of a Teacher & Business of Yoga
6. Advanced Anatomy & Physiology
In addition, you will receive an outline for deepening your commitment to your personal practice, weekly in-studio classes, observing and assisting in classes, and outreach. This work totals approximately 192 contact hours and 108 non-contact hours.
Once all hours (contact and non-contact), i.e. all modules have been successfully completed, in addition to submitting all homework assignments, you will be eligible to receive the 300 hour Yoga Teaching Certificate. To obtain this diploma of completion you must attend 100% of the classes to comply with Yoga Alliance requirements. However, you may not be able to foresee every conflict, and below is PranaShanti’s Conflict Policy if you must miss a class/hours in a module.
After successful completion of the program, you will be able to register with Yoga Alliance at the RYT-300/500* Level. In accordance with Yoga Alliance policy, trainees who complete the 300-hour training in addition to their completed RYS 200 training AND teach for 100 hours upon completion of the 300-hour training may become RYT 500s.
You may miss 12 hours in total from the entirety of all modules (but not from a single module) during your training. You may still complete the program by informing yourself of the material missed or by listening to the audio recordings.
