Your Guides
Allie Chisholm-Smith:
What lights me up is watching people be kinder to themselves, curious about who they are, and what their life’s purpose is. Having taught yoga since 1997, I have used this as my primary practice to facilitate people’s journey from shame and fear to Self-love and belonging. I am committed to a life long learning of Ayurveda plus the vast world of our fascia as holder of consciousness, meaning and the path to true freedom.
I love to follow the paths of tension in my body and use it as my primary somatic advisor. When you are in classes or trainings with me, I am going to encourage you to do the same. Using metaphors, hands on assisting and humour, we will journey into the banished places to bring them home to the cave of your heart.
I have been training teachers for well over 20 years, running studios for even longer, and currently am focused on my heart’s desire course called Teaching From Your Om. I have taught at the Toronto Yoga Show & Conference as well as the Muskoka Yoga Festival. I have been a guest presenter at numerous studios around North America as well as leading a whole bunch of retreats over the years.
I look forward to walking with you a while, inviting your soul’s purpose to shine forth. I can be found mostly in Huntsville Ontario and at www.alliechisholmsmith.com
Devinder Kaur:
Attend a yoga class with Devinder, and you’ll experience why students have studied and practiced with her for 20 years. She is a smart, experienced, and positive yoga teacher, who approaches the practice of yoga and meditation with humour and sensitivity.
Her strong interpersonal approach to teaching helps people reach their individual goals and empower themselves through yoga. While talented and practiced, Devinder is also thoroughly accredited – she is a 500 Hour Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher in the Hatha and Kundalini Yoga traditions and a Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT).
In 2003, Devinder created PranaShanti (Prana means breath, Shanti means peace) as a web resource and free eNewsletter to share the benefits of Yoga. In 2008, as she saw that the Ottawa yoga community had grown considerably, she grew the concept into the PranaShanti Yoga Centre. In 2020, Devinder pivoted PranaShanti Yoga Centre into 2 new locations; PranaShanti Yoga Centre and PranaShanti Education Centre. PranaShanti is now recognized as the largest yoga training centre in Canada, and is a community where many teachers and students receive exceptional yoga and meditation education.
Today, with over 25 years of experience as a self-employed business owner and business/IT consultant, she is a highly requested presenter and travels extensively as a guest trainer for Yoga Teacher Training programs.
