Sound and mantra have been part of yoga for thousands of years. This practical, experiential course explores the foundations of mantra, drawing on yogic philosophy, historical context, yogic and western anatomy and physiology, and direct experience.

- Explore the nature of sound, vibration, and mantra within the yoga tradition.
- Deepen your understanding of the history, purpose, and practice of mantra.
- Learn breath practices, vocal techniques, and deep listening to support healthy, confident chanting.
- Learn the pronunciation, meaning, and skillful use of commonly used Sanskrit mantras.
- Develop or deepen your own sound and mantra practice.
- Explore practical ways to integrate sound and mantra into yoga teaching.
This course is designed for yoga teachers, yoga practitioners, and anyone curious about using sound as a tool for well-being and spiritual growth.
Learning Objectives
Throughout this course, you will learn to:
- Understand the foundations, history, and role of sound, vibration, and mantra within yoga traditions, including relevant philosophical, anatomical, and physiological perspectives.
- Develop practical skills in breath, vocal, listening, pronunciation, and chanting techniques to support a healthy, confident, and meaningful mantra practice.
- Apply your understanding of sound and mantra to deepen your personal practice and skillfully integrate commonly used Sanskrit mantras into your yoga teaching with confidence and care.
