Restorative Yoga

Restorative Yoga is a calm yoga practice which makes use of props to fully support the body in order promote relaxation, release tension in the muscles, calm the mind and sooth the nervous system.  Poses are held for a longer period of time with the support of props such as blankets, bolsters, straps and blocks.  Gentle movement and breathing techniques are also incorporated throughout the class in to help the body relax.

This practice is beneficial for reducing stress and anxiety, promoting the health of spine and the organs as well as assisting with digestion, circulation, fertility, promoting sleep, as well as many other health conditions.

Restorative Yoga is a great way to find balance in our busy lives or for those looking for a healing practice which promotes rest. It is a very relaxing style of yoga which leaves you feeling refreshed and renewed. Everyone is welcome to create space in their mind, body, and heart.

Therapeutic Yoga is an integrated approach that weaves together a variety of practices, which contribute to health and healing on all dimensions of being. Classes are trauma-informed and focused on self-care. Within this atmosphere of allowing, everyone is welcome and everything is optional.

Therapeutic Yoga is adaptive to the individual so lots of variations are offered. Classes tend to be relaxing yet uplifting! We slow way down to explore breath techniques (Pranayama), hand gestures (Mudra), vocal tones (Mantra), gentle movement (Asana), and various forms of meditation. This balanced approach to yoga alleviates stress and supports your whole system in functioning optimally.

Somatic Movement

Through the slow and subtle somatic exercises you will improve your sitting posture, relax tight and sore muscles and bring a feeling of balance to your body.

This class will increase your flexibility, align your spine and improve brain function, allowing you to focus and be more productive. Your nervous system will feel soothed and calm, which will help you to do all the things you used to do, only better. A suitable class for all levels of ability. You don’t even need a yoga mat for this class!
