Karen has practiced several types of yoga for many years enjoying the benefits of flexibility, muscle relaxation, and stress relief. Her meditation practice (separate from that of her yoga practice) has evolved over a period of 20 years from personal self-led, to facilitator-led silent meditations, and, in the past 4 years, to a whole new level with Kundalini Yoga.

Karen enjoys the holistic approach of Kundalini yoga that truly benefits body, mind, and spirit of being. As a result, Karen has pursued Kundalini yoga training and is a certified Kundalini Yoga Level Two Practitioner (500 hours). Her Kundalini Level One (200 hours) training was provided by PranaShanti in Ottawa.

Complementary to Kundalini Yoga meditation is the practice of sound healing using the Gong. Karen has taken an Introduction to Gong course and received Gong Yoga Meditation certification.

Karen has also received Yin Yoga Teaching Certification (20 hours). Karen’s regular personal yoga practice includes Yin yoga as a form of relaxation, to maintain joint health, and to balance yin and yang body energies.

As a woman, mother, partner, professional Project Manager, and volunteer in the not-for-profit sector, Karen understands how self-awareness can greatly help navigate through life’s challenges with authenticity, integrity, and with perspective.  As a yoga teacher, Karen’s ultimate goal is to help others learn how to achieve self-awareness.
