    LoveYourBrain Community Fundraiser

    Sunday, March 1st, 5:00pm - 7:00pm
    LoveYourBrain Community Fundraiser

Every 11 seconds someone sustains a traumatic brain injury. We’re on a mission to improve the lives of those affected.

Here’s how: March is Traumatic Brain Injury Awareness Month. As part of the LoveYourBrain family, we call it #MindfulMarch, and unite as a global collective to host yoga and meditation events to raise love & funds for the LYB program!

We’re kicking off the very first day of #MindfulMarch with a special guest & magical event – please read on for details - we hope you’ll join us.

Picture this: 2 hours of the most healing, gentle, and holistic Yoga offering … where you will move, breathe, meditate, and rest. Mind. Body. Spirit. Soul. You’ll be taken on a journey through gentle therapeutic, yin, and restorative yoga guided by one of our beloved LoveYourBrain teachers, Meghan Johnston.

Your journey will conclude with an exquisite meditation + extended savasana The secret ingredient - one that will transport you inward & beyond - is that your entire journey will be guided by a meditative sound bath.

Our special guest Megan Marie Gates has a gift that is hard to put into words. Through soft harmonic, over-tone instrumentation and the practice of deep listening, we’ll have the unique opportunity to slow down and deepen our brainwaves, heartbeats, and enter dream-like states. Towards the last third of the practice you will be invited to get cozy (seated or laying down) and tune into the soft salving sounds of crystal singing bowls, field sounds, her gentle melodic voice, and more.Sound Meditations (or Sound Baths) are meditative, healing, intuitive journeys which can offer deep relaxation, creative awakening, and regeneration for those participating.

We are so blessed to have the opportunity to share this experience together, to set the foundation for #MindfulMarch and to celebrate the importance of #brainlove for all, while raising money for such an important program in our community.

    About Your Teachers:

Meghan Johnston:  Meghan became a yoga teacher in 2010 to bring together her passion for community-building and for creating supportive spaces that empower others to safely and compassionately explore their whole selves. Her classes emphasize the healing power of slowing down and tuning in to the wisdom within. Meghan’s deepest desire ...is for you to see the possibility both on your mat and in your life ... for healing, transforming, and journeying closer to the real you. For Meghan walking the path of yoga is an invitation to not only more deeply connect with our true selves, but to deepen our relationships with one another, our communities and our planet.

Megan Marie Gates:  Megan Marie is a sound practitioner, movement guide, and creative artist based in Southern Ontario. She offers both sound meditations and training immersions full-time in Canada + internationally, and believes music, dance and the medicine of nature are some of the sweetest vehicles for re-enchantment, cellular reset and unification of all things divided.

    Cost: $50.00 per person.

Please note: Because this is a fundraiser, and 100% of funds raised are going directly to the program, refunds will *not* be offered for this event.

  • Workshop - Breathwork Series for Forgiveness: A journey to inner freedom
    X

Workshop - Breathwork Series for Forgiveness: A journey to inner freedom

    Monday, March 9th to Monday, March 30th, 7:00pm - 9:00pm
Workshop - Breathwork Series for Forgiveness: A journey to inner freedom

Forgiveness is detaching your precious energy from the past, and seeing the person who hurt you through the lens of mercy. It is the ultimate reclaiming of your power and a liberation. We know when we have truly forgiven when we see the other person as innocent.

Forgiveness is a widely misunderstood concept, and many people are lacking the proper tools to support them in truly processing their pain. Many of us want to desperately forgive but we don’t know how to do it. Or we ‘think’ we have forgiven but the pain is still trapped in our body. Without learning how to forgive, we are left carrying around bitterness, resentment and anger. This inability to forgive another becomes poisonous to us and can leave us trapped in the past. The power of breathwork is that it moves us beyond ‘wanting’ to forgive and gives us a tangible tool to clear the pain out of our body.

    • Forgiveness can lead to:
    • Healthier relationships
    • Improved mental health
    • Less anxiety, stress and hostility
    • Lower blood pressure
    • Fewer symptoms of depression
    • A stronger immune system
    • Improved heart health
    • Improved self-esteem

In this series, we will explore: what does it mean to forgive? And what are some of the tools we can use to assist us in this journey towards letting go?

Each session will begin with a discussion to heighten our understanding of forgiveness, some journaling work, a meditation exercise and active breathwork to bring about ultimate release.

Wear comfortable, cozy clothing. Bring a small pillow and a journal.

Cost: $195.00 per person for the 4 week series.

Note: Please ensure you can attend all dates in the series.  Refunds/credits will not be provided for missed sessions.

  • Full Moon Meditation for Clearing & Balance
    X

Full Moon Meditation for Clearing & Balance

    Tuesday, March 10th, 5:45pm - 7:15pm
Full Moon Meditation for Clearing & Balance

The full moon is a special time, especially for those who are following a yogic path, because it is an optimum time for clearing and balancing our mind and our energy.

The moon is deeply and intimately connected with our mind and our thoughts. Meditation can help to cleanse feelings of agitation, and can even provide us with a great opportunity to let go of the mental or emotional baggage that has been weighing us down.

Meditating at the full moon also help us to unleash our creativity, whether we are focused on specific creative projects or we need new ways of thinking about the problems and issues we are facing. This practice can help us to release old, stuck, energy that no longer serves us.

During the class, we will clear our mind and balance our body’s chakras (energy centers) through a variety of Kundalini Yoga practices including breath work (pranayam), meditation, visualization, setting intentions, and a restorative sound bath with the symphonic Gong.

Cost: PranaShanti Class Card or Drop-in Fee.

New Moon Meditation for Prosperity & Abundance

    Tuesday, March 24th, 5:45pm - 7:15pm
New Moon Meditation for Prosperity & Abundance

"Prosperity is a state produced immediately by the mind. When the sun comes out of the clouds, everything is lit. When the mind comes out of duality, prosperity is there."- Yogi Bhajan

Meditating at the time of the New Moon intensifies our intentions and makes it an ideal time to focus on prosperity (personal and business) and abundance using the energy of the New Moon combined with Kundalini Yoga kriyas and meditations. Prosperity and abundance come in many forms.

When one’s internal attitude is out of alignment, it doesn’t matter what that person has or doesn’t have in the material world.  When we connect with an internal attitude of prosperity, we become like a magnet. The abundance of the universe flows to us.

Our class includes breath work (pranayam), a short yoga set (kriya) for awareness, a prosperity meditation followed by a deep relaxation (savasana) in the celestial sounds and vibrations of two Gongs.

Cost: PranaShanti Class Card or Drop-in Fee.

This course begins with a Friday evening Kirtan (pronounced keer-tahn) Concert. There will also be an opportunity to practice participating in and leading chants (at your own comfort level). The benefits of chanting for body, mind and spirit will be revealed through experiential learning, discussion, and group sharing.
