Full Moon Meditation for Clearing & Balance

    Thursday, March 1st, 5:45pm - 7:15pm
Full Moon Meditation for Clearing & Balance

The full moon is a special time, especially for those who are following a yogic path, because it is an optimum time for clearing and balancing our mind and our energy.

The moon is deeply and intimately connected with our mind and our thoughts. Meditation can help to cleanse feelings of agitation, and can even provide us with a great opportunity to let go of the mental or emotional baggage that has been weighing us down.

Meditating at the full moon also help us to unleash our creativity, whether we are focused on specific creative projects or we need new ways of thinking about the problems and issues we are facing. This practice can help us to release old, stuck, energy that no longer serves us.

During the class, we will clear our mind and balance our body’s chakras (energy centers) through a variety of Kundalini Yoga practices including breath work (pranayam), meditation, visualization, setting intentions, and a restorative sound bath with the symphonic Gong.

Cost: PranaShanti Class Card or Drop-in Fee.

    Yogic Philosophy, Lifestyle and Ethics

    Friday, March 2nd, 6:00pm - 9:00pm
    Yogic Philosophy, Lifestyle and Ethics

Learn about the historical evolution of yoga and how this philosophy can be applied to our lives and culture in modern times.

The way to live a yogic lifestyle is to express our practice in everything that we do. Applying this practice to each moment, spreading the values of yoga into our daily, public and personal life is how to live yoga. This course supports participants in cultivating a practice that extends beyond the formal practice itself, and into the rest of their lives.

Stepping into the role of a teacher is an endlessly  rewarding path, which also comes with its challenges. It is not the challenges that define a teacher but the way those challenges are met. Ethical issues that a teacher might face will be addressed along with how we can work through them in order to continue evolving as exceptional teachers.

    Learning Objectives:

    1. Develop a broader under standing of the history of yoga.
    2. Invite in and recognize some of the challenges encountered on the path of yoga and examine how
      to move through them.
    3. Explore and understand the foundational ethics of the yoga practice and how we can live with these values in our heart.
    Dates and Times:

    March 2-4, 2018

    • Friday 6 pm to 9 pm
    • Saturday and Sunday 11:30 am to 6 pm (both days)

    Cost:  $325.00 per person.

  • New Moon Meditation for Prosperity & Abundance
    X

New Moon Meditation for Prosperity & Abundance

    Thursday, March 15th, 5:45pm - 7:15pm
New Moon Meditation for Prosperity & Abundance

"Prosperity is a state produced immediately by the mind. When the sun comes out of the clouds, everything is lit. When the mind comes out of duality, prosperity is there."- Yogi Bhajan

Meditating at the time of the New Moon intensifies our intentions and makes it an ideal time to focus on prosperity (personal and business) and abundance using the energy of the New Moon combined with Kundalini Yoga kriyas and meditations. Prosperity and abundance come in many forms.

When one’s internal attitude is out of alignment, it doesn’t matter what that person has or doesn’t have in the material world.  When we connect with an internal attitude of prosperity, we become like a magnet. The abundance of the universe flows to us.

Our class includes breath work (pranayam), a short yoga set (kriya) for awareness, a prosperity meditation followed by a deep relaxation (savasana) in the celestial sounds and vibrations of two Gongs.

Cost: PranaShanti Class Card or Drop-in Fee.

Yoga philosophy teaches us that fear is a natural part of the process of life. Iyengar describes it as part of the instinctual mind. Crucial to our survival, we must learn to use it as tool for growth instead of submitting to it.

    About Phil:

Phil's philosophy is that we create wisdom by examining our relationship with nature through the practice of awareness. Phil inspires you to find balance between strength and grace. He weaves yoga philosophy into his classes relating real-life situations to illustrate how we can take our practice off of the mat.

Discovering the healing potential of a yin practice is becoming more popular. This 30-hour training is designed for both yoga teachers and dedicated yoga practitioners to delve deep into the practice and theory of Yin Yoga, and explore anatomy, sequencing, safety in postures, introduction to meridian theory, and mindfulness.

    Yin Yoga Teacher Training

    Friday, March 23rd to Sunday, March 25th, 8:00am - 6:00pm
    Yin Yoga Teacher Training
    30-Hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training
with Laurie Howe and Stéphane Ippersiel

Discovering the healing potential of a yin practice is becoming more popular. This 30-hour training is designed for both yoga teachers and dedicated yoga practitioners to delve deep into the practice and theory of Yin Yoga, and explore anatomy, sequencing, safety in postures, introduction to meridian theory, and mindfulness.

Who will benefit from this Training?

This training will benefit teachers, practitioners and students alike. It can be used as a therapeutic treatment or as a personal practice. You don’t need to have the desire to teach, only the openness to fully immerse yourself in yoga.

More and more practitioners are exploring Yin Yoga. This is a natural reaction to what has become an extremely yang health culture. Yin yoga is the relaxed practice of floor postures for three to five minutes at a time. A yin practice emphasizes the connective tissues of the hips, thighs, pelvis and lower spine. It prepares the body and mind for longer meditation practices. By drawing the student’s awareness away from the muscles and deeper into the bones, a deep level of relaxed focus is achieved.

This 30-hour intensive is a strong complement for a current Yoga Teacher of any style. It can also be a springboard for the student who is ready to take the leap into a broader perspective and fuller appreciation of the practice of Yin Yoga.

    Dates and Times:

The course is held over 3 full days, Friday, March 23 to Sunday, March 25, 2018.

    The hours each day are:

Friday to Sunday – 8:00 am – 6:00 pm each day, with periodic breaks.

    Outline:
    • Overview, background and lineage of Yin Yoga 24 Poses, method of instruction, benefits and cautions of Yin postures

Full Moon Meditation for Clearing & Balance

    Thursday, March 29th, 5:45pm - 7:15pm
