Jane discovered Pranashanti in her neighbourhood in 2010 and started attending classes to help relieve the daily stresses of life, not realizing at the time the extent to which it would change her life. The world of yoga opened up to her after she encountered encouraging and inspirational teachers. Jane felt drawn to deepen her personal practice by taking the 200 hour Hatha Yoga Teacher Training in 2012 at Pranashanti with no initial intention to teach. Once in the training she immediately knew it would become a second career. Jane is a recently retired high school visual arts teacher and arts consultant. She has also completed a 30 hour training in Yin yoga with Joe Barnett; anatomy classes with Ray Long and most recently, Jill Miller’s 70 hr Yoga Tune Up® training certification. She is also certified as a .b Mindfulness trainer for teenagers.
Jane’s interests lie in mindful awareness in all aspects of life and the integration of mind, body and spirit in the present moment. She will invite you to discover this in your practice, by asking you to always be mindful and accepting of where you are as you travel your personal journey.
