Deepening Asana: Alignment, Breath & Intelligent Exploration

          Thursday, November 5th, 6:00pm - 9:00pm
Deepening Asana: Alignment, Breath & Intelligent Exploration

          In-Person and/or Online Course

Now that you’ve completed your 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training — or have developed a consistent and dedicated personal practice — it is time to deepen your understanding of asana beyond the external shape of the pose.

This immersive 6-hour course is designed for yoga teachers and experienced students who are ready to slow down, refine their awareness, and explore postures through a more intelligent and embodied lens.

Together, we will examine the subtle layers of practice that create greater depth, clarity, stability, and confidence both on the mat and in your teaching.

In this course, we will explore:

          Anatomical Cueing & Functional Awareness

Expand upon the foundational anatomy learned in your 200-Hour Training by exploring muscle actions, joint stability, and functional alignment within postures. Learn how thoughtful anatomical cueing can create safer, more effective, and more empowering experiences for students.

Breath as a Pathway Into the Pose

Move beyond the physical expression of asana and discover how breath awareness transforms the internal experience of a posture. Explore how pranayama and breath-focused attention can create depth, steadiness, and presence within practice.

          Slowing Down the Practice

“Fast is just fast.” Through longer holds and mindful transitions, we will create space to observe, feel, and refine alignment patterns within the body. Slowing down allows for deeper exploration, nervous system awareness, and meaningful integration.

          The Ladder Flow Method

Learn how to build postures progressively and intelligently by establishing a strong foundation before introducing more complex variations. This method supports accessibility, confidence, and sustainable progression for practitioners of all levels.

          Intelligent Use of Props

Props are not only for beginners — they are powerful tools for awareness, support, resistance, stability, and deeper understanding. Explore how blocks, straps, blankets, bolsters, and the wall can help practitioners access greater clarity and embodiment within postures.

          This course will include:

          • Lecture and discussion
          • Guided experiential practice
          • Partner and self-exploration
          • Practical teaching applications

Elevate your restorative yoga practice and expand your knowledge of restorative yoga with Anne Wanda Tessier (E-RYT 500) in this upcoming training for experienced restorative yoga teachers.

We will review popular restorative yoga poses and explore many new ones which require the use of new props, chairs and the wall. This training is a great addition to the Foundational Restorative Yoga Training as many new poses will be explored. Learn how to safely support all body shapes in poses such as inversions, backbends, hero pose and several variations of savasana.

You will also learn new themes that can be incorporated in your yoga classes, explore the therapeutic benefits of this practice and how this practice can help sooth emotions and balance dosa types. Expand and diversify your repertoire of restorative yoga poses and dive deeper in the physiology of relaxation and the importance of rest.

              Overview:

In this 20-hour training, we will have the opportunity to practice restorative yoga poses and explore how to use props to fully support the body, including variations and alternatives depending on injuries or other health conditions. We will explore how to safely support the body in inversions and backbends as well as how to modify or offer alternatives for various poses. We will learn how restorative yoga can help restore balance in our lives and how this practice can help to reduce stress, anxiety, anger and depression.

You will leave the training with knowledge on how to sequence a restorative class for their own practice, for private and group classes as well as teaching online.

MELT Method® Neck & Jaw Release
              In-Person Workshop

Do you suffer from chronic jaw pain and tightness? Perhaps some teeth clenching at night?
Do you experience stiffness and pain in your neck?

Come enjoy this 1-hour MELT Method workshop focused on easing neck and jaw pain.

The MELT Method is a gentle self-care technique that is all about fascia - the fibrous, water-based tissue that traverses our body, envelops our muscles and organs and houses sensory nerves and our joints. Using specially-designed soft foam rollers and balls, MELT techniques help decompress fascial tissue, easing pain, stiffness, and inflammation.

Cost: $40.00 per person in-advance, $45.00 per person day of.

              Maximum of 12 participants.

              About Rachel:

Rachel Lipton is a Level 2 MELT Method® Instructor and Registered Acupuncturist.

“I found MELT during the pandemic while trying to find a cost-effective way to manage my posture-based pain and tension areas. After practicing for two years, and using it while training for a short tri-athalon, I decided I couldn’t keep it to myself any longer! As a registered acupuncturist, I found the overlap between fascial function and the ancient Chinese meridians thrilling. I’m delighted to be sharing this method with the Ottawa community.”

Yin & Pin: Turn Inward and Let Go

              Sunday, November 15th, 2:00pm - 4:00pm
Yin & Pin: Turn Inward and Let Go
              In-Person Workshop

With Stéphane Ippersiel and Gugliemo Tita, (R. Ac)

Slow down, turn inward, and create space for release as you align with the energy of the Fall season.

As nature turns inward, this seasonal Yin Yoga and acupuncture experience invites participants to slow down, turn inward and embrace the practice of letting go. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, Fall is associated with the Metal element and the Lung and Large Intestine meridians, reflecting themes of breath, release and creating space for what matters most.

A thoughtfully sequenced Yin practice will be paired with acupuncture or acupressure points selected to complement the qualities of the Metal element and the energy of the Fall season.

Through long-held, supported postures and intentional stillness, participants will be invited to release tension, deepen their connection to the breath and cultivate a sense of inner balance as the body and mind prepare for the quieter months ahead.

Cost: $75.00 per person in advance, $85.00 per person day of.

Maximum 12 participants, so sign up early!

Note: After registration an acupuncture form will be emailed for your review and a form to sign the day of the workshop

A Community for Readers, Curious Minds & Good Books

Love to read? Curious about what other people are reading?

Our Open Book Club is a little different from a traditional book club. Rather than everyone reading the same book, bring whatever you’re currently reading — or a book you’ve been meaning to start — and come share it with the group.

Each gathering will be an opportunity to talk about books of all kinds: what you’re loving, what you’re not enjoying, what surprised you, what you can’t put down, and what you think someone else might enjoy.

You might come with a novel you’ve been immersed in, a memoir that changed your perspective, a book you’re struggling to finish, or a favourite you’ve returned to again and again. There are no assigned readings and no expectation to have finished anything.

Instead, this is a space to share ideas, discover new books, hear different perspectives, and connect with others through the simple pleasure of reading.
Come with a book to talk about, come looking for your next great read, or simply come curious.

All readers and all reading levels are welcome.

                Pilates Pop-Up

                In-Person Class

Curious about Pilates? This pop-up class is the perfect place to start!

Pilates is all about building strength from the inside out, with a focus on core strength, flexibility, balance, and mindful movement.

At the heart of Pilates is your core — the deep muscles of your abdomen, back, and torso that help support your spine and keep you moving with control. Think of your core as your body’s powerhouse: when it’s strong and engaged, everything else can move more efficiently and with greater ease.

Throughout this class, you’ll explore the foundations of Pilates through simple, effective movements designed to help you feel stronger, more stable, and more connected to your body.

No Pilates experience? No problem! Come ready to move, have fun, and discover what Pilates is all about. You’ll leave feeling energized, lengthened, and hopefully a little more in tune with your body.

Women's Circle | A Sacred Space for Everything You're Carrying
                In-Person Class

This gathering, facilitated by Lindsay, is an opportunity to gather with like-minded women to explore rest, cultivate care for ourselves and each other, and celebrate our individual and collective growth. Whether you are carrying joy, grief, hope, fear, sadness, we will create a safe container to feel it all here.

“Treating each other and ourselves with care isn’t a luxury, but an absolute necessity if we’re going to thrive. Resting isn’t an afterthought, but a basic part of being human… Nothing we accomplish in life is totally free of the influence of spirit and community. We do nothing alone.” – Tricia Hersey, author of Rest is Resistance

The evening will start with some grounding meditation and long-held postures, to tune into our feminine yin energy and help us transition from the busy-ness of our daily lives into a place of rest. We'll then get creative with some simple art and journalling prompts, with an opportunity to share reflections.

                Who is this for?

Whether you’re new to yoga or a seasoned practitioner, this circle is open to all women and female-identifying folks seeking meaningful connection.

All movement practices will be as accessible as possible, with modifications offered and encouraged. Come as you are. Join us in holding space for celebration, reflection, healing, and growth.

                PAUSE. REST. REFLECT. RECONNECT.

                Friday, November 20th, 12:30pm - 4:30pm
                PAUSE. REST. REFLECT. RECONNECT.
                In-Person Day Retreat

Step away from the rush of daily life and gift yourself a moment to PAUSE — an afternoon of restoration, connection, and nourishment.

Many of us lead busy lives and it can be easy to keep pushing through — meeting demands, caring for others, and putting your own needs aside. Ongoing stress has an impact on our health and nervous system and can show up in many ways: physical exhaustion, emotional overwhelm, poor sleep, anxiety, digestive issues, muscle tension, headaches, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself and the things you once enjoyed.

These are the body’s signals that it’s time to pause.

PAUSE is more than an afternoon away from your busy life. It is an opportunity to intentionally invest in your health and wellbeing before stress and exhaustion take a greater toll.

This intimate afternoon retreat invites you slow down and reconnect with yourself. You’ll have space to listen to what your body may be telling you, learn ways to calm and regulate your nervous system, and explore practical tools that can support you long after the afternoon ends.

Through mindfulness, gentle movement, rest and reflection, you’ll be guided to explore how you can release tension in the body, soothe the nervous system, learn tools to promote self-care and prioritise your health and well-being.

                Your afternoon includes:

                • Guided meditation
                • Discussions on the impact of stress and importance of rest
                • Gentle somatic movement to release tension in the body
                • Restorative yoga with hot stones to relax the body and soothe the nervous system
                • Creative journaling to reflect and reconnect with yourself
                • A handmade gift to support and continue your practice at home
                • Healthy snacks and herbal teas,

                Cost:

                $275.00 per person before October 31, 2026, $295.00 thereafter.

                Maximum 16 participants.

Location: PranaShanti Education Centre, 950 Gladstone Ave., 2nd Floor, Ottawa, Ontario.

Our 3,000 square foot Education Centre offers a large open concept training area with high ceilings and an abundance of natural light and excellent ventilation. There is a kitchen with fridge, microwave, kettle and dishware. We have a dining area tables and chairs, 2 gender neutral bathrooms, lending library and our administration offices.

The way you end one year shapes the way you begin the next. Join Devinder and Lynn-Marie for a powerful 40-day Kundalini Yoga and Meditation journey designed to help you consciously close one chapter and intentionally create the next.

Beginning 40 days before December 31, this immersive experience combines an inspiring opening class, a daily meditation practice, community support, and a New Year's Day Kundalini Yoga class to help you enter 2027 with clarity, purpose, and an elevated state of awareness.

In the Kundalini tradition, a 40-day meditation is considered the time needed to establish a new habit, shift subconscious patterns, and strengthen your inner commitment. Through the consistent practice of one carefully selected meditation, you'll cultivate resilience, clear mental and emotional clutter, and develop a more conscious relationship with yourself.

                During our opening class, you'll:
                • Reflect on the lessons, growth, and gratitude of 2026.
                • Start to clarify what you want to create in the year ahead.
                • Understand the purpose and power of a 40-day meditation practice.
                • Learn a Kundalini meditation that you'll practice each day through December 31.
                • Set your internal projection for the year ahead.
Halfway through the journey, December 10, 2026, we'll gather online for a live check-in to reconnect, ask questions, share experiences, and renew our commitment to the practice.

Finally, we'll come together on New Year's Day for a special Kundalini Yoga and Meditation class, completing the 40-day journey as a community. Together, we'll welcome the year with an open heart, a clear mind, and a renewed sense of purpose.

If you're ready to finish the year with intention instead of exhaustion—and begin the next one feeling grounded, inspired, and aligned—this journey is for you.

                Your experience includes:
                • Opening 40-Day Class with Devinder & Lynn-Marie

                X

Afrobeats Flow: Rhythm, Movement & Yoga

                Sunday, November 22nd, 2:00pm - 3:15pm
Afrobeats Flow: Rhythm, Movement & Yoga
                In-Person Class

Move, breathe, flow, and connect with the rhythm in this joyful 75-minute yoga experience inspired by the vibrant sounds and movement of Afrobeats.

Afrobeats Flow brings yoga, music, and Afrobeats-inspired movement into conversation, creating an energizing practice where breath and rhythm guide the way we move.

Beginning with grounding, breath, and mobility, we’ll gradually build into dynamic yoga flows infused with rhythmic movement, including pulses, weight shifts, hip and torso movement, and opportunities for playful expression. Familiar yoga postures become starting points for exploring movement in new ways as we move between structure and freedom, stillness and rhythm.

Throughout the practice, you’ll be invited to connect with:

                • Rhythm and Afrobeats-inspired movement, exploring accessible grooves and movement patterns without the need to learn choreography.
                • Dynamic yoga flows that build strength, mobility, balance, and coordination while responding to both breath and music.
                • Breath and embodied awareness, keeping attention connected to what you are experiencing as you move.
                • Playfulness and personal expression, with opportunities to explore movement rather than trying to perform it “correctly.”
                • Stillness and rest, as the energy of the practice gradually settles into slower movement, stretching, and Savasana.

As the class unfolds, movement will build in layers. Simple patterns may become rhythmic flows; yoga postures may become grooves; and familiar sequences may open into moments where you can make the movement your own. We’ll eventually reverse the journey, moving from rhythm toward quiet and allowing the practice to settle back into breath and stillness.

No dance experience is necessary, and you do not need to know Afrobeats choreography. Options will be offered throughout so that you can explore the practice at your own pace.

Whether you love yoga, love Afrobeats, or are simply curious about experiencing the two together, come ready to move, breathe, groove, and discover what happens when yoga meets the rhythm.

                Sunday, November 22nd, 6:30pm - 7:30pm
Lunar Reset: A Full Moon Ceremony
                In-Person Workshop

The full moon can be a meaningful time for reflection and reset. Its natural cycle offers a helpful reminder to pause, reflect, release, and create more balance in both body and mind.

A full moon practice can also awaken our creativity and inner clarity. Whether you are working on creative projects or seeking fresh perspectives on life’s challenges, this is a beautiful time to let go of stagnant energy and make space for insight and renewal.

In this class, you will unwind and reset through slow, grounding yoga postures, allowing the body to open and the nervous system to settle. You will then move into a deeply restful Yoga Nidra—a guided, meditative relaxation that supports effortless release, inner healing, and integration.

As your body settles, you’ll be enveloped in the healing vibrations of crystal and metal singing bowls, chimes, Gong, and other meditative instruments—designed to quiet the mind and restore your energy.

This practice invites all to soften, to listen inward, and to welcome the spaciousness that the full moon brings.

You’re welcome to bring an eye pillow or anything that adds to your comfort.

Energy Management for Everyday Living – Deepening Balance, Renewal & Connection

Energy Management for Everyday Living – Deepening Balance, Renewal & Connection
                    In-Person Workshop

This practical and experiential workshop offers an opportunity to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and develop a more intentional relationship with your energy through three simple guiding principles:

                    Notice. Nurture. Navigate.

Across cultures and throughout history, people have turned to simple yet profound practices to restore balance, release what no longer serves them, and reconnect with themselves and the natural world.

Together, we’ll explore earth-based and shamanic-inspired practices that offer pathways for emotional well-being, energetic balance, and personal renewal. These practices are approached in a grounded, practical, and accessible way, with an emphasis on curiosity, self-awareness, and personal experience.

During this 3.5-hour workshop, you will:

                    • Explore traditional approaches to cleansing and refreshing personal and environmental energy
                    • Experience a compassionate energetic cord-release practice to support letting go of unhealthy attachments while honouring the relationships that matter to you
                    • Participate in a guided journey to meet a Guardian Spirit as a source of inner wisdom, guidance, and support
                    • Work with the elements of Earth, Water, Fire, and Air through guided practices for clearing stagnant energy, restoring balance, and supporting everyday well-being
                    • Reflect, journal, and engage in meaningful discussion in a supportive and welcoming environment
                    • Discover additional practices and rituals to help maintain greater energetic balance in daily life

Throughout the workshop, we’ll continue developing the simple yet powerful practices of:

                    • Noticing what is present.
                    • Nurturing yourself with compassion.
                    • Navigating your life with greater awareness and intention.

This workshop offers an opportunity to slow down, reconnect, and explore practices that have been used across traditions to support renewal, reflection, and connection. You’ll be invited to discover what resonates with you and consider how these practices might become meaningful additions to your own well-being toolkit.

You will leave with a deeper understanding of earth-based and shamanic-inspired practices, along with practical ways to cultivate balance, release energetic heaviness, renew your vitality, and strengthen your connection with yourself and the world around you.

Cost: $111.00 per person before October 31, 2026, $135.00 per person thereafter.
