Come treat your body to a head-to-toe fascial rehydration experience!
The MELT Method is a ground-breaking self-care technique focused on rehydrating connective tissue, scientifically known as fascia. The fascial system connects, protects and stabilizes our entire body, wrapping around muscles, housing our joints, and enveloping organs and nerve tissue alike. By working on our fascia, we can reduce pain, stiffness, inflammation, and optimize our joint health and overall body mechanics.
This workshop will guide you through MELT's most foundational techniques, giving your body an awesome once-over using specially-designed soft foam rollers and balls.
Cost: $40.00 per person in-advance, $45.00 per person day of.

About Rachel:
Rachel Lipton is a Level 2 MELT Method® Instructor and Registered Acupuncturist.
“I found MELT during the pandemic while trying to find a cost-effective way to manage my posture-based pain and tension areas. After practicing for two years, and using it while training for a short tri-athalon, I decided I couldn’t keep it to myself any longer! As a registered acupuncturist, I found the overlap between fascial function and the ancient Chinese meridians thrilling. I’m delighted to be sharing this method with the Ottawa community.”

Heart of Yoga: Practice, Presence, & Purpose | Day Retreat
Saturday, May 9th, 9:00am - 5:30pm
In-Person Day Retreat
Step away from the busyness of daily life and return to what yoga is truly about.
This Day Retreat is an opportunity to slow down, turn inward, and connect with yoga as a living practice — one that supports peace of mind, self-awareness, and purposeful living.
Whether you are a dedicated yoga student or a practicing teacher, the morning session offers space to deepen your relationship with yoga beyond the postures. The afternoon session is designed specifically for teachers wishing to refine their skills, confidence, and connection to the teachings.
Morning Session: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM For yoga students and teachers
The morning is devoted to cultivating inner awareness, calmness, and a deeper understanding of yoga’s timeless wisdom.
We begin with a welcoming opening circle, setting intention and creating a shared container of presence and connection. From there, you’ll be guided through a meditative yoga practice that emphasizes breath, mindfulness, and inward attention rather than external performance.
Breathwork and guided meditation will support nervous system regulation and mental clarity, followed by a dharma talk and group discussion exploring how yoga works with the mind and supports inner peace. We’ll discuss the Eight Limbs of Yoga as a practical framework for living with greater balance, awareness, and purpose — both on and off the mat.
The morning concludes with a gentle integration period, including herbal tea, reflection, and collective gratitude.
This portion of the retreat is suitable for all levels and does not require prior knowledge of yoga philosophy.
Afternoon Session: 1:30 PM – 5:30 PM For yoga teachers, recent graduates and teacher trainees
The afternoon offers a supportive, skill-building environment for teachers who want to strengthen their confidence, refine their teaching skill, and integrate philosophy into real-world teaching.
There will be a Q&A circle where questions and challenges around sequencing, communication, confidence, and the practical realities of teaching are welcomed openly. A hands-on adjustments refresher will revisit ethical, consent-based, and trauma-informed touch, with time to practice alignment-based assists for foundational postures.
Through a philosophy session rooted in the Bhagavad Gita, you’ll explore how ancient teachings can be translated into meaningful class themes and accessible language for modern students. The afternoon also includes peer teaching practice, allowing you to cue, sequence, and receive constructive feedback in a nurturing, non-judgmental setting.
We close the day with reflection, gratitude, and a grounding closing circle to integrate what you’re taking forward into your teaching and personal practice.
This retreat is an invitation to remember why you came to yoga — to reconnect with presence, purpose, and the heart of the practice.
Cost:
Morning Session: $145.00 per person before March 31, 2026. $160.00 per person thereafter.

For parents, caregivers, teachers, yoga teachers, and anyone who works with children!
“Children are not things to be molded, but people to be unfolded.” — Jess Lair
Today, our youngest and brightest minds are often overwhelmed by schoolwork, screen time, busy schedules, and constant stimulation. Caregivers are increasingly seeking meaningful ways to support children’s well-being and happiness — not by asking children to change who they are, but by helping them feel safe, heard, and connected to their bodies.
Research shows that introducing developmentally appropriate Yoga and Mindfulness practices can support children’s mental, emotional, and physical well-being — improving focus and confidence while helping to ease stress and anxiety.
This Teaching Yoga & Mindfulness to Children training is grounded in how children grow and learn. It is designed to support those who care for, teach, or work with children so that children can meet life’s challenges with greater steadiness and resilience — not through force, performance, or pressure, but through connection, presence, and choice.
Together, we will explore:
The benefits of yoga and mindfulness for children
How children’s bodies, brains, and nervous systems develop over time
How to introduce age-appropriate movement, breath, mindfulness, and rest
Fun, creative activities, games, and relaxation techniques
Tips for creating and presenting child-centered classes
How to create welcoming environments where every child can participate in their own way
How to make learning safe, inclusive, accessible, playful, and meaningful
This is a training for those who wish to walk alongside children with presence and compassion — creating the conditions for who they already are to unfold.

In 2021, Canada’s Seniors officially out numbered children. With no signs of this trend lessening any time soon, learning to teach yoga to our Seniors safely and mindfully is becoming an increasingly important skill in the yoga teaching world. Understanding the common physical and mental issues and having the qualifications to teach yoga to this large segment of our population will provide yoga teachers and care givers with a unique and very rewarding way to serve our communities.
In the training we will address common physical issues that will need accommodation in class, for example: osteoporosis, arthritis, COPD or CAD. Learning to create skillful modifications for older students, some coming to yoga for the first time, will allow for teachers and care givers to offer the gifts of yoga with confidence. Adapting to the needs in the room will allow for a strong, challenging, but equally relaxed and meditative practice.
The program covers:
Simple and profound postures
How to sequence a class
Teaching methods
Strength or flexibility
Classical Yoga philosophy
Teaching a mixed level class
How to modify for those who cannot reach the floor
Working with injuries
Contraindications
This course is ideal for yoga teachers looking to develop their teaching to meet the needs of a growing segment of the yoga population, or seasoned yoga practitioners who work with this demographic in some other capacity, such as nurses, home health care workers and care givers looking to share yoga with elders in their homes and community.

The full moon can be a meaningful time for reflection and reset. Its natural cycle offers a helpful reminder to pause, reflect, release, and create more balance in both body and mind.
A full moon practice can also awaken our creativity and inner clarity. Whether you are working on creative projects or seeking fresh perspectives on life’s challenges, this is a beautiful time to let go of stagnant energy and make space for insight and renewal.
In this class, you will unwind and reset through slow, grounding yoga postures, allowing the body to open and the nervous system to settle. You will then move into a deeply restful Yoga Nidra—a guided, meditative relaxation that supports effortless release, inner healing, and integration.
This practice invites all to soften, to listen inward, and to welcome the spaciousness that the full moon brings.
You’re welcome to bring an eye pillow or anything that adds to your comfort.
