The Desire Map fits like my favourite yoga pants. Comfortable. Transformational. Practical. Versatile. Natural. Like putting on a hug. An investment in awesome. An investment in forward motion. An investment in life: lived on purpose, with purpose.

It also solved one very big problem.

First, a little back story. Danielle Laporte, creator of The Desire Map, lights up truths and pulls it all together – practically and poetically. She asks us to turn old habits, beliefs, and ways of getting stuff done inside out. Born in Windsor, Ontario, she’s globally known as a powerhouse of manifestation. Without post-secondary education, she rose up through The Body Shop by achieving new goals, and then asking for promotions.

The Desire Map is premised on the clarity of intention. Clarity of desires. Clarity of choices. Clarity of action. Yet (and this is a big yet), the approach is oh-so-soothing. to body, mind AND spirit. Soothing to the soul. It’s gentle, powerful and life affirming.

I was an early adopter of the The Desire Map: when the first book was born it caught fire in my soul. I felt lit up, and inspired to change some things in my life. When the Licensed Facilitator program was released an abundance of YES sang from my core. The Licensed Facilitator program lets leaders and inspirers in their community adapt The Desire Map content to their own skills and desired outcomes.

This material gave rise to possibility: a way to integrate my favourite transformational tools of Meditation, Yoga, h’Art (therapeutic art from the heart), and of course, Desire Mapping.

Confession time. I used to be a type A, perfectionist, goal chasing, workaholic. I pushed. I strived. I checked off to-dos like it was going out of style. But the {self-inflicted} pressure and the frenetic pace was draining my light, sucking me dry, and worst of all, it left this empty, unfulfilled residue on my soul.

Don’t get me wrong, I liked gold stars, I liked getting things done. But. This. Was. Not. Working. The journey has to feel the way you want the destination to feel.

Plain and simple, though not always simple to execute in our lives. Eventually, knowing this in my bones, it changed everything. The hardest part? You have to know how you want to feel…

  • In your heart, your body, your career.
  • When you wake up in the morning.
  • When you speak your peace.
  • When you go for what you want.

Knowing this is a potent form of clarity. Practicing and planning your life based on this clarity is the most powerfully creative and liberating thing you can do for yourself.

Based on the skills I’ve developed with my experience, we will do this together. Something incredible happens when Desire Mappers come together to do this work in community. Combined with Meditation, Yoga, and h’Art, it really is magic.
