Achieving optimum wellness is as important to your daily routine as your practice of yoga. Bodywork, private classes, and coaching can support your emotional and physical wellness.

Appointments can be made by telephone at 613.761.9642 (YOGA), by email, in person and online. The fastest way to book an appointment is to call the centre. HST is not included in the service costs.

Somatic Therapy

Somatic therapy uses the method of pandiculation (a manipulation aided by the practitioner to contract and relax your muscles) to improve functionality through points of the body prone to tension and limitation, including the neck, upper/middle/lower back, shoulders, hips, torso and extremities. It is an excellent form of therapy for those with movement limitations or chronic pain, and would be the perfect introduction to wellness and self-care for anyone new to massage or yoga.

The therapist will review your medical history and particular complaints or injuries, and then assess your gait and alignment, as well as spinal rotation.

On a supported therapy table, your treatment will leave you feeling more relaxed, mobile, and aware of your body. Repeated visits with the therapist will give you improved balance, coordination and overall functioning of the musculoskeletal system.

Hello Janine, it’s important to rest after surgery and check in with your Doctor about any pain you are experiencing. Also, check with your Doctor for when you can resume exercise and more physical activity. Somatic Yoga and Therapy is a wonderful practice for the back muscles and spine. We hope you can join us for some sessions or classes once you have recovered from your surgery.

Hello. I suffer from osteoarthritis and have had knee replacement surgery but my knees are still quite stiff.
I cannot walk for very long periods of time and experience lower back pain after walking. Would somatic therapy be an option for me?
