Tamara approaches each class with humour, excitement, and a determination to make each session accessible and welcoming to all who attend, whether a beginner or a more experienced practitioner, regardless of body type.

With a focus on mindfulness, Tamara’s classes cover breath work, asana, and meditation, during which the student will be encouraged to listen to their body and breath, and to make decisions with each transition as to how their personal practice will progress – each and every time the student steps on the mat.

Tamara’s journey to yoga began with a tentative step, much exploration, and a desire to make both physical and emotional changes in her life. Little did she know that one tentative step would take her on a new path through the asanas, into her breath, beyond her expectations, and into new found emotional and physical health.

Humbling experiences, intense introspection, and an out of the blue frozen shoulder, all contributed to Tamara taking the first of many deep breaths and deepening her practice with the simple commitment to attend classes, and be open to what may come.

Having completed her 200 hours, and various additional trainings in Yin, anatomy, sequencing, prananayama, and meditation, with both local and international teachers, Tamara is excited to share her ongoing journey in the practice through teaching, shared breathing, and cups of tea, as well as assisting others in their practice with support, patience, and humour.

Off the mat, you can find Tamara hunkered down with her puppy, trying to apply a zen-like calm to the knitting of socks, tending to her urban veggie garden, or hanging on a yoga wall.
