Ruby’s passion for movement began with dance at the age of 4. Her training led her to teach dance and to become a Certified Group Fitness Instructor. Her study of yoga began in 2002 with Bikram; the disciplined practice of physical postures related to her background. Recognizing the calmness and joy that ensued after each yoga practice, she sought to pursue yoga as a therapeutic activity. She developed a daily practice of yoga and meditation to further expand her physical and mental self. Compelled to know more about this ancient practice led Ruby to yoga philosophy, which established a deeper connection to her spirit and with the infinite.
A love for hot yoga drew her to the Moksha Teacher Training in Kerala, India. The month long intensive training provided an in depth classical Hatha Yoga foundation along with anatomy, hands on adjustments, meditation and Vedic philosophy.
Self-acceptance punctuates her style of teaching; she works to establish a peaceful and engaging practice with awareness of body and mind through movement and postures with breath. She is grateful for the opportunity to lead students to take ownership of their practice; she encourages connections and challenges within the present moment.
Ruby’s mindful guidance encourages students to experience self-discovery, expansion and transformation within a centered environment accessible to all levels of practice. She is devoted to lead students to leave the class feeling empowered, relaxed and rejuvenated. Ruby embraces a life of love and learning, her joy for sharing yoga is undeniable.
