Laura first stepped onto a yoga mat in 2007 while studying abroad in Australia. She quickly fell in love with the practice as a compliment to her varied movement background. A former figure skater, Laura was drawn to the strength, balance, grace and fluidity of the Hatha practice.
Today, her personal practice involves equal parts Yin and Yang; mediation accompanied by a strong physical practice. Laura pursued her 200 HR Hatha and Yin Yoga training at Rama Lotus Yoga Centre in Ottawa, Canada and has since pursued further trainings in the areas of advanced vinyasa, Yoga Detour Method, and meditation along with substantial workshops in the areas of breathwork, inversions, and mindfulness to name a few. She believes the best teachers are lifelong learners and continues to frequently pursue further yoga education.
Laura’s background and passion for fitness, sports, dance and exercise science can be felt in her classes. Her sequences offer a mix of traditional hatha postures integrated with functional movements as well as movements borrowed from other modalities. Students can expect to flow slowly, with intention, and move their bodies in new ways. She strives to create creative sequences where students feel equally challenged but present with their own experience. You will leave her classes with a deeper appreciation for body, mind, and soul connection.
