Katherine is one of Prana Shanti’s dedicated wellness providers. She offers counselling & yoga therapy for students wishing to take a holistic approach to their mental health care. She is also a teacher and student of yoga, a dog-owner, nature-lover, and a strong advocate for social change. While her background and her focus are mainly in psychology, Katherine is fascinated by everything related to the human mind, body, and spirit. Her goals as a therapist and teacher are to help people breathe more freely, heal, thrive, and lead wholehearted lives filled with meaning and connection.

Katherine has a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology in Vancouver, BC. She is a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), and a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). She is also an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT) and a Certified Yoga Therapist in the Krishnamacharya Tradition of Yoga. For nearly 15 years, Katherine worked in a variety of social services across Canada, including residential mental health treatment facilities, schools, community-based intervention programs, substance use treatment programs, community health centres, and more.

She continues to be actively involved in the social services sector in Ottawa as a mental health consultant and as the Founder of a not-for-profit initiative aimed at making wellness education accessible for all, called Rhythms Rediscovered: a community yoga project (formerly known as Ottawa Yoga Outreach).

Her work with insured clients is supervised by Registered Counselling Psychologist Dr. David Paré, member #4073 with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.
