Joa Keur is a Yoga Teacher who works in the visual, performing and holistic healing arts. He has been practicing yoga for over 15 years.
Joa did his teacher training in Kundalini yoga in the late 90′s and is KRI certified. After four healthy intensive years of this Kundalini, Joa decided to adventure into the Ashtanga practice for more than three solid years, and has also tried and tested many other popular yoga styles over the years, in heated or cool rooms. He has trained with many well known local and international teachers.
One of the important parts of his training is a daily morning home practice. “Here I’ve developed my own interpretive style of yoga that still continues to grow today with influences of Restorative, Yin, Power, Ashtanga, Hatha Flow etc.”
You can expect a safe, fun journey on the mat for all levels. From time to time he’ll throw in 3 to 5 minutes of light cardio. If you have physical challenges and need coaching, be sure to express your concerns and Joa will help you adapt accordingly.
In Joa’s own words- “I’m here to help you develop a growing, nurturing relationship with yourself, to lighten up and develop better understanding, intuition, flexibility, strengthening the body and mind. With life’s constant challenges we need a rejuvenating lifestyle with yoga and nutrition, thus being part of our tools to help live a vibrant life with nature at our side!”
A little more about Joa – you’re sure to find him beating a drum here at our monthly Kirtan! He is also our resident artist and painted the Mandala in the Body Room, as well as assisting in the development of the Zen Garden.
