    With an equal balance of play and rest, kids will learn how to slow down, breathe, and feel joyful! The children will gain a better awareness of their bodies and minds through yoga poses which focus on balance, strength and acceptance and mindfulness activities that teach self-awareness.
     
    They will also make great friends and have fun creating and expressing though daily arts and crafts, playful imagination, songs and yoga games!

    Kids will experience the benefits of yoga and mindfulness in a positive and non-competitive atmosphere.

    Activities include:
    • Fun daily yoga and mindfulness practice
    • Group Yoga games
    • Expression through arts & crafts
    • Stories and songs
    • Partner yoga poses

    What we will learn:

    • Yoga poses (asanas)
    • Simple, yet affective mindfulness/breathing techniques

    Full Moon Meditation for Clearing & Balance

    The full moon is a special time, especially for those who are following a yogic path, because it is an optimum time for clearing and balancing our mind and our energy.

    The moon is deeply and intimately connected with our mind and our thoughts. Meditation can help to cleanse feelings of agitation, and can even provide us with a great opportunity to let go of the mental or emotional baggage that has been weighing us down. Meditating at the full moon also help us to unleash our creativity, whether we are focused on specific creative projects or we need new ways of thinking about the problems and issues we are facing. This practice can help us to release old, stuck, energy that no longer serves us.

    During the class, we will clear our mind and balance our body’s chakras (energy centers) through a variety of Kundalini Yoga practices including breath work (pranayam), meditation, visualization, setting intentions, and a restorative sound bath with the symphonic Gong.

    Calling all runners and athletes!!

    This workshop is open to experienced runners wanting to safely increase their stride and speed, and those wanting to start a running program on the right foot.

    While focusing on alignment, Julia will introduce yoga poses that strengthen the quadriceps, hamstrings, and glutes, as well as the core and supporting muscles. Modifications to standard poses will maximize the benefits of yoga for runners. Safe and effective yoga stretches will be explored in depth, especially for the hamstrings, IT band, and lower legs. This workshop is a perfect complement to your next run!

    "Prosperity is a state produced immediately by the mind. When the sun comes out of the clouds, everything is lit. When the mind comes out of duality, prosperity is there."- Yogi Bhajan

    Meditating at the time of the New Moon intensifies our intentions and makes it an ideal time to focus on prosperity (personal and business) and abundance using the energy of the New Moon combined with Kundalini Yoga kriyas and meditations.

    Prosperity and abundance come in many forms.  When one’s internal attitude is out of alignment, it doesn’t matter what that person has or doesn’t have in the material world.  When we connect with an internal attitude of prosperity, we become like a magnet. The abundance of the universe flows to us.

    Our class includes breath work (pranayam), a short yoga set (kriya) for awareness, a prosperity meditation followed by a deep relaxation (savasana) in the celestial sounds and vibrations of two Gongs.

    In celebration of Yogi Bhajan and all the blessings that he shared with us in his life, PranaShanti Yoga Centre will join the global Kundalini Yoga community in celebrating Yogi Bhajan’s birthday on Saturday, August 26th.

    The Schedule:

    • 6:00 AM - World-wide 11 minute Guru Guru Wahe Guru, Guru Ram Das Guru Meditation
    • 6:15 AM - 2.5 hours Long Ek Ong Kar Meditation
    • Complimentary tea and fruit provided.

    At exactly 6:00 AM EST our worldwide community will simultaneously chant Guru Guru Wahe Guru, Guru Ram Das Guru for 11 minutes. This is a powerful worldwide energetic connection to the spirit of humility and service that Guru Ram Das represents.  In New Mexico everyone will be chanting at 4:00 AM MDT, in Vancouver at 3:00 AM PST and in India at 4:30 PM. Be part of the global vibration!

    Then we will chant two and a half hours of Morning Call, or Long Ek Ong Kars, in memory and gratitude to Yogi Bhajan for sharing the teachings of Kundalini Yoga with us.

    Urban Day Retreat with Devinder Kaur

    During this one-day retreat we will practice Kundalini Yoga and Meditation and experience Sound Therapy to relax and raise our internal vibration to connect with our intuition, creativity and radiance.

    Feel nurtured in a supportive and conscious atmosphere. This is a perfect opportunity to take time out for yourself, while still providing the time for other commitments during the weekend. By taking care of ourselves, we can take better care of others.

    The retreat day is suitable for all levels of yoga practitioners, including those who are new to the practice.

    Our day together:
     
    11 am – 1:30 pm: Kundalini Yoga and Meditation & Healing Sound Experience
     
    1:30 pm - 2 pm: Break

    2 pm – 4 pm: Afternoon High Tea with a Yogi Twist (catered by Amy Longard Nutrition and Grow Your Roots Cafe)

    4 pm – 5 pm: Kundalini Mediation & Closing
